Avdar - wooden treasure chest in Mongolian - is a young brand with multiple cultural backgrounds. Developed by Evgeny, from Russia and Lulu, from Mongolia, they set their workshop with a close team of knowledgeable woodworkers - with 70% women - in the peaceful seaside city of Dalian. It was born when as a new dad, Evgeny started to craft open-ended, minimalist wooden toys for his son out of sheer passion

Sanded to perfection yet ideally grippy for creative building and small world play, each piece is handmade at every single step from the finest hardwood - mostly precious limewood - and stained with child-safe water-based colours that let the natural beauty of the wood grain shine through

They demonstrate their commitment to sustainability by initiatives such as removing all plastic filler from their shipments for recycled paper and packaging their products in paper boxes with minimal printing; they also give back where they can - recently they have donated toys and activity gyms to a children orphanage in Mongolia that care for kids with abusive parents.

All their toys have passed stringent saftey tests and conform to EN71 for Australia and NZ and ASTM International standards.
